Dear Faculty and Staff Members,
Welcome back! I hope that your semester is off to a good start. I’m delighted to see so many returning faces and new colleagues this fall.
Dear Students,
With finals over, I'd like to share my gratitude with you for another great year. Across the University, you've made us proud.
Really, we are a happy bunch. And that sentiment is portrayed in this video of with you, and our faculty and staff members: http://youtu.be/6mt3EMiDM_k
We look forward to your return on Monday after the Spring break.
As we enter the final part of the Spring 2014 semester, it’s my pleasure to let you know that I have named Patricia Frilot Cottonham as the University’s vice president for Student Affairs.
Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
Our search for a Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is complete, thanks to input from so many of you.
Our search process was thorough. It yielded two outstanding finalists, Dr. Paula Carson and Dr. James Henderson, from a pool of 72 candidates for this critical position.
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Now that everyone has settled into the fall semester, I’d like to share some news about the progress the University has made in a couple of crucial areas.
First, a search committee is narrowing down the list of finalists for the combined positions of provost and vice president of Academic Affairs. The person who serves in these roles helps oversee all educational affairs and activities, including faculty and research. So it’s a position that’s pivotal to the University’s continued success.
Dear Students,
Welcome! Whether you are a first-time freshman or a returning student, I hope the semester is off to an excellent start.
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I’d like to thank you for making this academic year a great one.
In recent days, I've attended several events with graduating seniors. In offering their parting thoughts, a common theme has persisted. Many soon-to-be grads mentioned professors by name who they noted as exceptional mentors. Several, especially those from other countries or states, explained how staff members made them feel welcome. Perhaps they haven't always told you that directly, but in sharing their sentiments, they were expressing gratitude for your dedication and service.
Dear Students,
Now that finals are complete, I’d like to thank you for making this past year a great one. At every level, you moved UL Lafayette forward by big leaps.
We started the year by welcoming the most academically talented freshman class ever to enter the University. We also opened the newest residence halls in the Rose Garden, enhancing the physical space of our campus.
I would like to thank Dr. Carolyn Bruder for her dedication as an exceptional Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. She is retiring this summer after leading our academic affairs division for nearly three years, longer than she first intended.
Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students: We’ve reached a greatly anticipated milestone—the University has launched a new website. It features an easy-to-use content management system. More importantly, our new website better conveys who we are and reflects the dynamic people, programs and places that make up our university.
