Great Start to the Fall Semster

    Dr. Joseph Savoie -- Fri, 09/18/2015 - 11:45am

    Dear Faculty and Staff,

The new year is off to a tremendous start. The energy on campus is palpable.

We welcomed our largest freshman class, and I might add, our brightest, too. The freshman class has 3,179 students, which represents a 9 percent increase over last year. Our overall enrollment for the Fall 2015 semester is 19,033. I would like to thank the Enrollment Management staff for its efforts and congratulate everyone who supports student recruitment.

We also welcomed more than 270 new faculty and staff who have joined our community.

    Dr. Joseph Savoie -- Fri, 07/24/2015 - 10:41am

    Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette community is deeply saddened by the loss of Jillian Johnson, 33, and Mayci Breaux, 21, who died in a tragic shooting at the Grand Theatre on Johnston Street last night. Jillian graduated from UL Lafayette in 2004. Nine others were injured, with one in critical condition.

The entire campus mourns the loss of lives in our Lafayette community. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends.

    Dear Students,

Last week, the UL System Board of Supervisors approved tuition and fee hikes for its nine member institutions. Tuition at UL Lafayette will increase by 10 percent over last year’s tuition rate. Also, the Board approved a new general and auxiliary fee of $28.58 per credit hour for all UL Lafayette students.

The new tuition and fee rate for the fall 2015 semester for an undergraduate resident who is enrolled for 12 credit hours, for example, will increase from $3,436 to $4,128.

    Governor's Executive Budget Proposal

    Dr. Joseph Savoie -- Fri, 02/27/2015 - 12:32pm

    Dear Faculty and Staff,

The release of the governor’s executive budget today provides a starting point for the University’s budget planning for the 2015-16 fiscal year.

It’s early in the budget adoption process. There is still a way to go before we will know the final amount of financial support that we will have from the state for our University as the legislature considers the governor’s budget proposal and ideas for adopting a statewide budget.
