Dr. Joseph Savoie -- Tue, 05/29/2018 - 10:25am

Dear faculty and staff members,

It’s my pleasure to announce that Dr. Jaimie Hebert will be provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Some of you had a chance to meet him during his visits as a candidate to our campus. I’m thankful for your participation in the search process.

We’ll welcome Dr. Hebert home on July 1. In addition to his solid higher education credentials, he already is familiar with UL Lafayette’s mission and values. He’s an alumnus and scholar who shares our Ragin’ Cajun spirit.

Dr. Hebert received three degrees from UL Lafayette. He received a bachelor’s in 1986, a master’s in 1988 and a doctorate in 1990 – all in statistics.

His appointment to UL Lafayette is pending approval by the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System.

I’d like to thank the search committee members and chair Dr. Dianne Olivier for their diligence and proficiency to lead us to the selection of Dr. Hebert.

I share the appreciation of many for Dr. David Danahar’s contributions over the past two years advancing the University. I’m pleased he’ll continue working at the University as senior adviser in my office.

Join me in welcoming Dr. Hebert.
