April 8, 2010 — You Make the Difference!

Dr. Joseph Savoie -- Thu, 04/08/2010 - 1:55pm

Dear Faculty & Staff,

The theme for this year’s Employee Appreciation Week affirms my sincere belief that it is indeed people who make an institution great.  Along with our students, our employees are our greatest resource and do indeed make the difference at UL Lafayette.

To recognize your outstanding contributions, we have declared the week of April 12 – 16 as UL Lafayette Employee Appreciation Week.  Activities planned in your honor are as follows:

MONDAY, April 12th Employee Appreciation Week will kick off with a sweet treat delivered to each department.
TUESDAY, April 13th 4-6 PM  Grab your spirit gear and come cheer on the Ragin’ Cajuns Baseball Team.  A pavilion has been reserved for a special UL employee tailgating event, complete with hot dogs and beverages.  Employees with a UL ID will receive a complimentary ticket to the game (distributed at tailgating).  A SPECIAL half price ticket ($4) will be available for UL employees (with UL ID) to purchase for a guest, so make plans to join us for tailgating and the game.
WEDNESDAY, April 14th 2-4 PM  Take your “coffee break” at the Paul & Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum (http://museum.louisiana.edu/).  Following a stroll through the interesting and exciting exhibits on display, enjoy refreshments upstairs in our beautiful museum.
THURSDAY, April 15th 1-3 PM  Tour the innovative and award-winning BeauSoleil Solar Home (http://www.beausoleilhome.org/) located adjacent to Fletcher Hall and enjoy ice cream treats.

A committee headed by Ms. Amy Chauvin in Career Services organized these special activities for your enjoyment.  I am grateful to Amy and the other young professionals who served on her committee for their good work.  Your Employee Appreciation Week committee is listed below.  Please acknowledge committee members’ hard work when you have the opportunity.

I look forward to celebrating Employee Appreciation Week with you and hope to see you at these events during the week.  Thank you for all you do.  You truly make the difference!

Best wishes,

E. Joseph Savoie
